About Marin Karlos

Marin Karlos, our founding and Principal lawyer, is an expert litigator with a special interest in workplace disputes, including injury and industrial relations.

Marin is highly regarded for his straightforward and diligent, no-nonsense approach to litigation and advocacy; Marin takes the time to not only get to know his clients and the basis for their claims but also his opponents and their respective claims/defences. With that, Marin works with his clients to formulate catered legal strategies to best serve his clients’ interests.

Marin’s focus is his client’s well-being and ensuring that their voices are heard and holding those accountable for their actions. Marin prides himself on his ability to connect with his clients as well as his ability to simplify the complexities of the legal system by providing realistic and actionable legal advice, empowering his clients to maximise their entitlements all whilst reducing their legal costs as well as limiting the risks and uncertainty of litigation.

A skilled and persistent negotiator, Marin is not afraid to ‘fight the good fight’ and is highly regarded for his organised and tenacious trial preparation. Throughout his career, Marin has successfully negotiated and litigated numerous complex matters in all Courts and Tribunals within Victoria.

With a true passion for social justice, Marin is an active member of the Law Institute of Victoria, the Australian Lawyers Alliance as well as the Fitzroy Legal Service.

Outside of work, you can catch Marin and Tyson along the Maribyrnong River enjoying what nature has to offer or spending time with his friends and family.

About Tom Cuk

Tom Cuk, head of Marketing and Operations, has enjoyed a successful career in the commercial and corporate sector, holding various positions in Finance, Marketing and Operations at some of the world’s largest multi-national companies.

Possessing the necessary skills and experience, Tom brings a determined and conscientious approach to his work enabling Karlos Lawyers to meet its corporate and social responsibilities while our team of legal experts do what they do best: deliver unparalleled legal services to those truly deserving.
With a degree in International Business and an MBA from the Melbourne Business School, Tom is tasked with implementing best business practices and integrating the necessary infrastructure, processes, and systems to support the firm as it moves into its growth phase ensuring that the Karlos Lawyers stays true to its essence and continues to deliver quality legal services in a timely and effective manner.

In his spare time, you can catch Tom coaching his team at the Strathmore Split Football Club, rolling around on the mat honing on his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu skills, traveling or spending time with his family and friends.

About Tyson Karlos

Tyson Karlos is an integral member of the Karlos Lawyers team. Tyson heads up our client well-being team and will keep watchful eye over your matter.

Tyson is a former elite athlete who knows all too well the devastating consequences a work-related injury can have on all aspects of a person’s life; Tyson, a dog with a bone, will stop at nothing to ensure that every client of the firm feels valued, and their voice is heard.

Outside of work (and even during work hours), you can catch Tyson relaxing on one of his many beds or walking along the Maribyrnong River with Marin.
